Why Hire an Organizer?
...and other Frequently Asked Questions
Why hire an Organizer?
Why does one hire an accountant, web designer, wedding planner, landscaper, lawyer, interior designer, etc.?  For the same reason you would hire a Professional Organizer - you want an expert in the field to do the work.  Creekside Concepts is passionate about organizing and is dedicated to studying the art of organization.  Your organizing service will be done quickly and efficiently.

Why should I get more organized?
Being more organized will save you invaluable time and money.  You will know what you own and you will know where it is.  Being organized is a lifestyle choice.  They say only 10% of the population inherited the organizing gene.  A Professional Organizer is someone who can create organized systems for you and teach you how to be more organized.  Bottom line, to be more organized is to be in control of your environment.  Being organized allows you more time to enjoy your passions in life and will save you money in the long run.  Plus, being more organized feels good!  It reduces stress in the home because now it is the peaceful retreat you've always wanted versus a cluttered environment that weighs you down.

What is a Professional Organizer?
The National Association of Professional Organizers
(NAPO) definition is:

'A professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. A professional organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits. Professional organizers help individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper, and their systems for life.'

Does anyone have to know I hired a Professional Organizer?
Not unless you tell them!  Having someone in your home or office organizing your things is a very personal matter.  Creekside Concepts is very sensitive to this and guarantees that all matters will be handled confidentially.  Creekside Concepts adheres to the
Code of Ethics established by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).  Further more, Creekside Concepts firmly believes that our client relationships are nobody's business but our own.

How is a Professional Organizer different from a house cleaner?
A house cleaner cleans your house and can pick up after you but does not transfer any organizing skills.  A Professional Organizer creates organized systems that you can maintain.  Once these systems have been established and everything is in its place, it's just a matter of maintaining it - which we will teach you how to do.

Do I need to be present for the organizing?
Whether you are involved in the organizing process or not, you will still learn organizing concepts that can change your life.  Some clients love being involved because they are learning new skills as we work.  Some even find the process therapeutic!  Certain decisions can only be made by the client (i.e. do we keep it, toss it, or donate it) so if you are not able to be present for the organizing, simple homework and instructions will be left for you at the end of the session.

How much will a Professional Organizer cost?
You can expect to pay about the same rate for a Professional Organizer as you would for an interior designer, personal trainer, image consultant, or other similar service professionals.  We charge by the hour and can work with a variety of budgets.  Call Creekside Concepts to discuss your situation and we will be happy to quote you our rates.  Yes, there are fees associated with any service but the time you save in hiring an expert more than pays for the service.  Even if you only work with us for one session, you'll find that being organized is an investment in yourself that pays huge dividends in decreased stress and time savings.  We have a 3-hour minimum appointment time for all work done on-site.  Payment is due at the time of service.

How long will it take to organize me?
Every situation is different and unique in nature.  It is difficult to give an exact estimate but we will give you a range of how long it will take.  Getting organzied is a process and it will take some time.  It's not like the TV shows where you come back from commercial break and you're all done.  Some of the factors that can affect how long it will take include, how quickly can you make decisions, how long has the disorganization been going on and why, what will be uncovered while organizing that might add to the scope of the work, how long can you work without distractions or interruptions?  We will discuss all of these factors, tour the spaces in need of organization, set a budget, and put a plan together to achieve your goals.  If you are not ready to dive in to the hands-on organizing process, Creekside Concepts also offers consultation services to focus your efforts and answer your questions.
