Research shows that we only use 20% of what we actually own. When making purchases ask yourself 'do I LOVE it?', 'is it BEAUTIFUL?', 'is it USEFUL?', 'do I really NEED it?' If we can become more discriminating when making purchases we can help reduce the potential of clutter from the onset. Since money doesn't grow on trees, you will be saving money as well.
Creekside Concepts #9
Keep a donation box in the house or garage. Whenever you come across something that is not useful anymore, put it in the donation box. When it is full or once a quarter, take it to your favorite charity. Many charities have pick up service to make it even easier to donate items. Teach your whole family to do the same! Your children will learn the art of giving plus your home will not become cluttered with useless items.
Creekside Concepts #10
Place a basket near the staircase. Whenever there are items that need to go up or down, put it in the basket. Condition yourself to take the basket with you as you go up and down in your house. Drop the items off at the appropriate place and return the basket to the staircase. This will help items find there homes easier.

Many of Creekside's concepts were conceived on the shores of Denny Creek at Snoqualmie Pass.
